A nice gentleman, a happier and richer Serb than the one who writes, got some big money in court because someone violated his copyright, so he decided to invest the money by providing free textbooks to Serbian youth. Well, they are not exactly textbooks, they are PDF formats, so children will have to download, print and use them freely. The truth for the will, the gentleman, an honest and rich Serb, forgot, that there are some copyrights and intellectual property in Serbia as well. He reckons that everyone in Serbia does what they want, it’s just important to say – free of charge for Serbian children as well , and then anything is possible. He did not pay for the copyright, but he mostly bought the books from a long-dead national publishing house whose textbooks are almost never used, but they will now be used by the poor thanks to a generous and honest Serb from abroad.
A nice lady from the above-mentioned publishing house recently stated that authors who are worth writing about that publishing house, which undoubtedly means that authors from other publishing houses are not worth – a decent statement, nothing, two plus two is five. The question of how it is possible that such the best authors compiled textbooks that almost no one buys does not arise at any moment, and what would happen – a state company, we are all ours, so we ride.
Of course, the whole story was smelled by an excellent spin-master, call a journalist-researcher, and since then he has been shouting and shouting. Discovered is journalist that in one Reader there is a passage about Angela Merkel. He has no idea that it is an excerpt from the book “Growing from reading” whose author is Jasminka Petrović, the most famous writer for children and youth. Attempts by wise and well-read people, like one colleague, to explain that “the part in which Angela Merkel is mentioned is educationally and culturally very important; that the author is ironic about the ‘fame’ and fame that is made about politicians and their ‘omnipresence’ in our lives, and that the heroine of this book is not affected in the least. ” You say Merkel, you mention Croats, then you make a film about Jasenovac, and a cap-carap – here are the statesmen who would like to “write as I wrote it”. The population is already falling into a nationalist trance, shouts are heard – we are giving our heads, we are not giving textbooks.
The Serbian president also realized that the topic was hot and brought points, so he decided to launch an initiative for the state to write textbooks in Serbian, history and geography, and for the others to be written by whoever wants to. Normally, I don’t think there will be a biology textbook or, God forbid, chemistry to defend the Serbian national interest. The Minister of Education immediately jumped up, supported the President, forgetting that he personally approves all textbooks with his signature. It is not according to the law, but the law will be changed by urgent procedure, because everything is perfect in Serbian education, so let’s edit textbooks, and then we will certainly be leaders in the region, and in a few years we may catch up with the Finns. How the state will write textbooks is still not clear to anyone, except for the commission that was formed by urgent procedure and which will supervise the entire process of writing textbooks by the state. So, all educated and honest intellectuals who have written textbooks so far, which were exclusively approved by the state, do not love their family enough, and will be replaced, so there will be some greater patriots who will write textbooks on behalf of the state.
The mentioned gentleman from the beginning of the story was once a part of one, conditionally speaking, civic party, which was not Serbian enough, so he left it. Then, in the meantime, it became more Serbian, and now that Serbian party has joined the national defense of Serbian textbooks.
Nationalism is obviously the cow of the milkers of both the government and the opposition, an essential unifying idea.
While we have Croats and Merkel, there is no winter for us. Long live Croatia!
